One of the groups came from Seattle and another smaller team joined with them. They spent there time gutting Don's house close to the Lower 9th. Don evacuated to the Superdome and blessed us with some moving stories.
There was a lady who rented from him and lived up stairs who would not leave before the storm.
You would not have known it, but the few of you who watch CNN may have seen her being rescued by a boat (well, the boat did not save her but people in the boat). You can look down at this house from the bridge were CNN was set up, so this ladies relatives got to watch it all live. The water was 13 feet deep in a "no flood zone" close the Mississippi river.
Seattle people joined me each trip to the landfill, so I had good company, and learned many of them have jobs with Microsoft .
